‘Love is Blind’ Producer Can’t Arbitrate Sexual Assault Suit

The production company behind the Netflix Inc. hit “Love is Blind” must face a lawsuit in Texas after a state appeals court declined to compel arbitration to resolve a participant’s sexual assault claims.

Though a pre-filming agreement Delirium TV LLC reached with season 5 participant Tran Dang requires arbitration in the event of a dispute, a three-year-old federal law exempts sexual assault claims from arbitration, a Houston appeals court said Tuesday, siding with a trial court.
