Los Angeles Schools Sue Chubb Units Seeking Sex Abuse Indemnity

Chubb subsidiaries and other insurance companies have wrongfully refused to defend and indemnify the Los Angeles Unified School District from sex-abuse claims filed by former students against district employees, the district said in a California court complaint.

The companies “have shirked their contractual responsibilities” and chosen to “sit on the sidelines to watch the underlying cases move through litigation, all the while letting the District defend itself,” the lawsuit says.
