Los Angeles Schools’ Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate Backed by Court

Los Angeles Unified School District lawfully required workers to get the Covid-19 vaccine under a 2021 policy, a federal appeals court ruled.

District employees that challenged the policy failed to show that it violated their constitutional rights, a majority of the en banc US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in a split decision.

Policymakers could reasonably conclude vaccines would protect the public’s health and safety, Judge Mark J. Bennett’s majority opinion said.
