A key lawyer involved in covering up a scandal involving the country’s largest utility is facing new charges from the California State Bar Court, saying he attempted to hack into emails of a state judge and lawyer.
Michael Libman coordinated with fellow lawyer Paul Paradis starting in 2020 to hire Israeli hackers to break into the personal emails and phone accounts of Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Elihu M. Berle and attorney Brian Kabateck, according to disciplinary charges filed on Thursday in California State Bar Court.
