The California Superior Court in Los Angeles County is offering some court staff $35,000 each to quit their jobs as the trial court stares down a $30.3 million reduction in its operating budget, court leaders announced in a Monday news release.
State court officials have voiced concerns that budget cuts, which took effect Monday, will reduce access to justice. Trial courts across the state saw a $97 million reduction in operations funds as the state deals with a $46.8 billion deficit.
