A former vice president at L’Oreal USA Inc. failed to establish that her termination was due to racial and mental health discrimination, the Second Circuit found Monday.
Amanda Johnson, who is Black, alleged that the beauty company fostered a hostile work environment for women and people of color, and that when she reported this she was retaliated against in part due to her disclosed depression and anxiety. L’Oreal said it fired Johnson due to a demonstrated pattern of absences, friction with coworkers, and inappropriate text messages and social media posts.
