Long Island Transgender Sports Ban Can Be Enforced, Says Judge

A New York State judge refused to block enforcement of a Long Island law that bans transgender girls and women from participating in women’s sports at county-run facilities.

“I’m gratified that we were the first in America to do it, and I think we set the tone for the rest of the nation,” Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said. The ruling comes as the Trump administration is rolling back transgender protections.
