Lockheed Martin Sued By Private Firefighters For Unpaid Overtime

A group of in-house firefighters who work at Lockheed Martin Corp.'s plant in Marietta, Ga., filed a Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit in a federal court in Atlanta, alleging that the company shorted them on overtime pay.

Lockheed doesn’t pay its firefighters time-and-a-half wages for hours worked beyond 40 per week, even though it isn’t eligible to take advantage of the FLSA’s overtime exemption for fire protection workers, the complaint alleges.

Lockheed’s “policy is not to comment on ongoing litigation,” but “is confident this case is without merit” and will “vigorously defend that position,” company spokesman Rob Fuller told Bloomberg ...
