Live Nation Says All Insurance Claims Over Covid-19 Should Go On

Live Nation Entertainment Inc., which owns Ticketmaster, wants a federal judge in California to reject its insurer’s bid to shave claims from its lawsuit alleging it wrongfully withheld payouts for “unprecedented” revenue losses stemming from live music venue shutdowns.

Live Nation sued Factory Mutual Insurance Co. in January, saying it reasonably believed Factory would promptly cover severe and unanticipated losses spurred by the Covid-19 pandemic. About 150 venues that Live Nation owns were initially shuttered as Covid-19 spread and state governments ordered non-essential businesses to close, the company says in its complaint.
