Lion Capital Says Investment Firm Infringed Its Trademarks

Lion Capital LLP, a London-based private equity firm, says a Virginia-based investment firm infringed its trademarks in violation of a settlement agreement the companies had worked out.

The complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Feb. 9, alleges Lion Investment Group LLC began advertising its services in November 2021 and failed to cease using “Lion” trademarks by June 2023 after the companies signed a settlement agreement over the trademarks. Lion Investment Group didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
