LinkedIn Must Face Privacy Suit Targeting Video Learning Site

LinkedIn Corp. is stuck facing a proposed Video Privacy Protection Act class action challenging its inclusion of tracking “pixels” on its online video training platform following a federal court ruling.

Plaintiff Courtney Cole’s complaint sufficiently alleged that LinkedIn is a video tape service provider, she is a protected consumer of such a business, and the Microsoft unit knowingly disclosed her personal information to a third party, Judge P. Casey Pitts said for the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
