LinkedIn Moves Therapy Data Collection Suit to Federal Court

LinkedIn Corp. removed to California federal court a proposed class action accusing it of intercepting the medical data of thousands US users who booked therapy appointments on the Headway website without consent.

Federal jurisdiction applies under the Class Action Fairness Act because the lawsuit filed in California state court alleges more than 100 people are affected and damages would exceed $5 million, LinkedIn said in a notice of removal filed Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
