A former information services apprentice at Liberty University Inc. is suing the school alleging she was fired for being transgender.

Ellenor Zinski says she was fired from the university’s IT department when she came out as transgender in violation of the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Zinski was hired by the university in February 2023, and at the time went by the name Jonathan Zinski, according to the lawsuit. In July 2023, she informed Liberty’s human resources department that ...
