LG Electronics Gets Dishwasher Control Panel Lawsuit Trimmed

LG Electronics USA Inc. must face claims that it breached express warranties in a proposed class suit alleging it hid flaws in dishwashers, but a federal court in New Jersey said consumers didn’t offer enough facts to support their fraud claims.

Illinois residents Rachel Simner and Robert Domaschuk alleged they bought an LG dishwasher with an LED control panel defect that allowed moisture to seep inside, causing the appliance to malfunction. New Jersey resident Michael Rossidivito bought a different model with the same alleged defect.

The consumers say they opted to replace their appliances after repair attempts failed.
