Two Oklahomans who tried to use LG Chem Ltd.'s Atlanta-based U.S. subsidiary as a hook to sue the South Korean corporation in Georgia are unable to maintain their battery explosion suits, the Eleventh Circuit ruled.
LG Chem America Inc. is out of the suits anyway because the claims against it were time-barred, and courts in Georgia lack personal jurisdiction over the parent corporation in these cases, the appeals court said Tuesday in a per curiam opinion.
