LG Chem Exploding Battery Suit to Get Texas Supreme Court Review

LG Chem Ltd. will get an opportunity to convince the Texas Supreme Court that the state’s courts don’t have jurisdiction over a product liability suit arising from the explosion of one of its batteries in a man’s pocket.

The South Korean company and its American subsidiary, LG Chem America Inc., have been hit with lawsuits all over the country alleging its batteries caused burn injuries to vape users. In Texas, several similar cases made their way through the appeals court last year.
