Lexus Shuddering Transmission Suit Settled, Voluntarily Dropped

A woman who leased a Lexus with an allegedly dangerous transmission flaw has reached a confidential settlement with Toyota Motor Corp. and affiliated companies and dropped her suit alleging the automaker hid the defect, according to filings in a California federal court.

New Yorker Rosalie Quinones leased a new 2019 Lexus RX350 equipped with an “8-Speed ECT Transmission.” She alleged the transmission’s flawed design caused harsh or delayed shifting, delayed acceleration, power loss, and other problems.
