LexisNexis Sued Over April Data Breach Affecting 364,000 People

LexisNexis Risk Solutions Inc. is facing a proposed federal class action over a December data breach that affected hundreds of thousands of people.

The company negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 364,000 people that was compromised, the proposed federal class action said. Lead plaintiff Laurence Wilding alleged that LexisNexis breached its duties by failing to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely and adequate notice of the breach.

Information disclosed in the incident includes names, phone numbers, physical and email addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s-license numbers, and dates of birth, according to a complaint ...
