LexisNexis Beats Suit on Sale of Consumer Data to ICE (Correct)

LexisNexis Risk Solutions Inc. defeated a lawsuit filed by immigration activists and community organizations over its sale of consumers’ personal information to private companies and law enforcement agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Individual plaintiffs Maria Fernanda Castellanos Ramirez, Rosa Carrasco, and Claudia Marchan Torres lacked standing to bring claims of violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act, and failed to adequately plead claims of intrusion upon seclusion and unjust enrichment, Judge LaShonda A. Hunt of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Monday.
