LensCrafters Consumers Seek Nod for $39 Million False-Ad Deal

LensCrafters customers urged a federal judge to approve a $39 million class settlement resolving allegations that the eyewear chain duped them about the capabilities of its measuring system.

Final approval from Judge Pamela K. Chen of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York would bring the almost six-year-old lawsuit nearer to a close.

Yesenia Ariza and others alleged Luxottica North America Retail Inc. misleadingly touted its AccuFit Digital Measuring System as “five times more precise” than traditional methods and promised clearer vision.
