Lennar Loses Arbitration Push for $200 Million Seminole Suit (1)

Building giant Lennar Homes was rebuffed in its efforts to force a $200 million construction defects lawsuit brought by the Seminole Tribe of Florida to binding arbitration.

The tribe claims Lennar is responsible for design defects in 552 properties housing Seminole members across six Florida reservations. Its suit claims it found problems with 85% of the Lennar constructed homes, and Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Judge David M. Haimes ruled Monday the tribe can’t be compelled to arbitrate under the construction contracts.
