Lehigh Valley Health Must Face Christian Nurse’s Vaccines Suit

Lehigh Valley Health Network failed with its bid to dismiss a nurse’s lawsuit alleging she was wrongly denied religious exemptions from its Covid-19 and influenza vaccine mandates and then fired.

The ruling by the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania addressed the “delicate question” of when a worker’s proffered religious belief is truly religious in nature. The answer doesn’t always turn on whether a specific belief is shared by the religious group to which the worker belongs, and it didn’t in Deborah Leeck’s case against LVHN, the court said.
