Lego’s Minifigure Injunction Must Be Revisited, Second Cir. Says

A Lego A/S-won court order blocking another toy company from making figurines allegedly infringing its copy- and trademark rights must be reanalyzed, a US appeals court said Wednesday.

A Connecticut federal court’s third preliminary injunction barring Zuru Inc., from selling redesigned toys doesn’t detail any analysis of whether the products are similar to or are likely to be confused with Lego’s figurines, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in a summary order.

Lego, the world’s biggest toymaker, alleged Zuru’s toy figurines infringe on the copyright and trademark rights of its Minifigures.
