Ledger SAS must defend itself in the US against consumer claims that it misrepresented the security of its cryptocurrency password “wallet” devices, a federal court ruled.
The sales contract for the Nano S and Nano X hardware devices doesn’t control where the consumers can sue because its mention of French law is non-exclusive and the claims don’t turn on the application or interpretation the contract, Judge LaShonda A. Hunt said April 4 for the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The case consolidates suits originally filed in Illinois, California, and New York.
