Learning Assessment Company Sued Over Data Sharing With Outbrain

A learning assessment company allowed Outbrain Inc. to intercept and sell data from its website visitors in violation of federal and state privacy laws, a proposed federal lawsuit said.

Plaintiff Silvia Garcia alleged that WPS incorporated a tracking pixel from Outbrain on its website, allowing the “notorious” data broker to use its “powerful surveillance mechanism” to identify visitors and follow them throughout their online activities.
