Lawyers Seek $147 Million Fee in Google Privacy Button Case

Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, Susman Godfrey LLP, and Morgan & Morgan, who represented plaintiffs in a successful privacy class action against Google LLC last year, are seeking $146.7 million in legal fees for their work.

That number amounts to one third of the $440.4 million final damages award against Google, after a jury last year found the tech giant had violated the privacy rights of 98 million users who had turned on a privacy toggle in their account settings.

The jury awarded $425.7 million in its verdict, but the final number approved by Judge Richard Seeborg included additional pre-judgment interest. ...
