Lawyers in Funeral Home Class Suit Must Face Malpractice Claims

Attorneys who represented a class suing several funeral homes over allegedly abandoned remains must face malpractice claims over allegedly fumbled settlement offers, the Tennessee Court of Appeal ruled.

Kathryn Barnett of Morgan & Morgan Nashville PLLC served as lead counsel in a proposed class action alleging the funeral homes abandoned the remains of the deceased loved ones at Galilee Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Barnett and fellow attorney John Morgan allegedly refused to entertain and respond to roughly $15 million in settlement offers made by the funeral home defendants.
