A lawyer was suspended from practice in New York for one year for assaulting another student while he was in law school.
Joseph McClain assaulted a female freshman at a party at Bucknell University in 2008, when McClain was a first-year law student at another school. Although the victim didn’t initially press charges, she decided to prosecute in 2020, and McClain was hit with a two-count criminal information in Pennsylvania alleging simple assault and indecent exposure.
