Lawyer Put Phony Lien on Friend’s Home, Oversight Panel Told

An Illinois attorney who attached a bogus lien to a friend’s home to later try to buy the foreclosed house at a discount should be indefinitely barred from practicing law, a state disciplinary commission lawyer said on Friday.

Peter George Limperis who has been disciplined by the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission twice before, should have his license to practice law suspended for two years and only be reinstated by the state Supreme Court, commission attorney Steve Splitt said.
