A Latham & Watkins investigation into abuse by a cardinal at Seton Hall University was mostly protected from litigation disclosure despite the school sharing it with the Vatican, a New Jersey appeals court ruled Monday.
The Big Law investigation and accompanying documents were gathered after allegations arose concerning Theodore McCarrick, a bishop and cardinal who served as archbishop of Newark from 1986 to 2000, and who held high-ranking leadership positions at Seton Hall.
