Lasko Products LLC shook off some claims in a proposed class suit alleging it deceptively marketed space heaters that are prone to overheating, but a New Yorker’s consumer protection claims advanced Thursday.
Juan Velez alleged that flawed temperature controls make the units overheat and shut off prematurely, despite the company’s claims that the appliance “controls room temperature” and warms air to the user’s “comfort level.” He said he overpaid because of how the heater was portrayed.
