Three California residents failed to allege that Lasko Products made misleading statements regarding the efficacy of GermGuardian air purifiers, a federal judge ruled.
The proposed class action against Guardian Technologies LLC and Lasko alleged the plaintiffs were led to believe the GermGuardian’s UV-C bulb and HEPA filter made it more effective than air purifiers that only used a HEPA filter, according to court documents from the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
Nothing in their amended complaint rendered that claim false, Judge Maxine M Chesney said Tuesday. She denied leave to amend a second time.
