LaserShip Faces Delivery Driver’s Classification, Overtime Suit

LaserShip Inc. allegedly misclassified its delivery drivers as independent contractors, depriving them of overtime pay, even though it treated them like employees, a Pennsylvania worker alleges.

The last-mile delivery firm used this alleged misclassification to avoid paying delivery drivers an overtime premium for hours worked beyond the standard 40, and it also unlawfully deducted funds from some workers’ wages, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
