LaserShip, Delivery Drivers Agree to End Overtime Pay Lawsuit

LaserShip Inc. and package delivery drivers agreed to the dismissal of a proposed collective action alleging the company misclassified the workers as independent contractors and stiffed them on overtime pay.

The parties jointly stipulated dismissal with prejudice, according to a Wednesday filing in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The drivers claimed in 2022 they were, “in fact, employees subject to an extremely high degree of control and supervision by LaserShip,” and therefore the last-mile delivery firm owed them unpaid overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
