A Language Line Services Inc worker’s proposed class action was dismissed against the translation services company after two potential settlements were denied approval, according to court filings.

Attempts to settle Derek Rouse’s overtime pay lawsuit were stymied after the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri found collusion red flags that prevented it from granting preliminary approval. The parties had previously asked the court to approve a $960,000 settlement to end claims the translation service failed to pay workers like Rouse for work done on flights.
