Lana Del Rey Settles ‘Summertime Sadness’ Copyright Suit (1)

UMG Recordings Inc. and Elizabeth Grant, known professionally as Lana Del Rey, reached a settlement with a Spanish musician and filmmaker who alleged the popstar copied a portion of their short film in her “Summertime Sadness” music video.

Judge Stephen V. Wilson of the US District Court for the Central District of California issued an order on Wednesday granting a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice after the parties notified the court of their settlement deal last month. Details of the settlement weren’t shared in the order or settlement notice.
