Lamar Jackson Photographer Had Limited Rights in Hurdle Picture

A photographer who copyrighted a picture of football player Lamar Jackson only had limited rights to the photo, a federal court in South Carolina said.

Plaintiff Richard Barnes Jr. didn’t have standing to pursue part of his copyright infringement claim concerning the photo, which shows Jackson in college leaping over a defender during a game, Judge Donald C. Coggins Jr. of the US District Court for the District of South Carolina said.
