Laid-Off Gap Inc. Remote Employee Settles Lack of Notice Lawsuit

A former Gap Inc. employee has settled his proposed class action alleging the clothing retailer failed to provide remote workers like him advance notice ahead of a mass-layoff round.

Ian O’Reilly was a manager of supply chain operations who was allowed to relocate from Gap’s San Francisco headquarters to Montana during the Covid-19 pandemic. He alleged that he was part of a more than 1,800-person Apr. 2023 layoff where he was told his termination would be effective in 15 days.
