LabCorp Sued Over Disclosure of Patients’ Health Info to Google

Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings shared the personal health information of patients with Google Inc. without their consent in violation of federal and state privacy laws, a proposed federal class action filed Tuesday said.

Michael Wiggins and Teri Stevens alleged that LabCorp, which operates a network of clinical laboratories, installed Google’s tracking technology on its website, allowing the tech giant to collect, analyze, and make commercial use of the information of patients who visited the website.
