A Second Amendment lawsuit challenging the arrests of two Los Angeles gun owners for failing to have concealed carry permits was revived by a federal appeals court.
Los Angeles’ concealed carry permit policy, prior to June 2022, effectively prohibited anyone other than police officers from having permits. After the US Supreme Court altered gun rights precedents that year, Los Angeles and the California state attorney general determined they couldn’t enforce the policy’s “good cause” requirement.
“Los Angeles’s no-issue policy is unconstitutional,” the court said.
