LA Fire Worker’s Pride Flag Rule Suit Survives New Dismissal Bid

A Los Angeles County Fire Department lifeguard captain can pursue claims he was denied accommodations for his Christian faith from ensuring LGBTQ+ pride flags are flown from lifeguard stations in his area during Pride Month, a federal judge ruled.

Rejecting a defense motion to dismiss his amended complaint, the US District Court for the Central District of California said plaintiff Jeffrey Little had cured the prior pleading deficiencies that had caused his failure-to-accommodate allegations under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act to be dismissed.
