LA Assistant DA Charged With Using Confidential Police Files (1)

A Los Angeles County Assistant District Attorney was charged on Wednesday with 11 felony counts alleging she repeatedly accessed confidential sheriff’s deputy files without permission.

Diana Teran allegedly got the files in 2018, when she worked at the LA County Sheriff’s Department, and used the data without permission at the LA DA’s office when she joined as an Ethics and Integrity Assistant District Attorney in 2021, according to a news release from California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

The charges against Teran, who works closely with LA DA George Gascón, come after an “extensive investigation,” the news release said.
