L.L. Bean to Remove Shoe Line to End Patent Suit From Skechers

L.L. Bean Inc. will be removing a line of shoes from its stores that Skechers USA Inc. alleged infringes on two of its patents for its “heel cup” shoe design.

L.L. Bean will no longer sell its Freeport Shoe or any other shoe with Skechers’ patented design, according to an injunction and dismissal order Thursday. Judge Margaret M. Garnett signed off on the parties’ tendered settlement and dismissed the case with prejudice in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
