L.A. Veterans Will Get More Housing After ‘Broken Promises’ (1)

Disabled, homeless veterans in Los Angeles won their bid for additional housing from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, with a federal judge calling out corruption in the agency Friday.

The VA breached its duties to veterans with disabilities by leasing land on its 388-acre campus to entities that don’t “principally benefit” veterans, such as a private school, UCLA’s baseball stadium, and an oil-drilling company, Judge David O. Carter of the US District Court for the Central District of California ruled.
