LA Lakers Covid Insurance Claims Get Partial Green Light (1)

The Los Angeles Lakers may go forward with insurance claims against a Chubb Ltd. affiliate for property damage from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Central District of California ruled.

The Lakers sufficiently allege that the Staples Center, the property covered by the policy, was physically altered by the virus and that the alterations caused “detrimental economic impact,” the court said, citing a recent state appeals court ruling.
