L.A. County Settles Juvenile Hall Sex Abuse Case For $4 Billion

Los Angeles County has reached a $4 billion settlement to address claims of widespread child sexual abuse at juvenile detention facilities, marking the largest agreement of its kind.

The settlement involves around 7,000 plaintiffs who were housed in the county’s juvenile facilities as children and were subjected to sexual abuse, dating back to the 1960s, according to a Friday news release. The agreement now awaits approval from the county’s Board of Supervisors.
