L.A. Clippers Accused Of Firing Kawhi Leonard’s Health Advocate

The Los Angeles Clippers fired a former trainer in retaliation for raising concerns about star player Kawhi Leonard’s health and safety, according to a complaint filed Thursday in California state court.

Randy Shelton, who said he was hired as part of Leonard’s signing, complained that the Clippers were mishandling Leonard’s recovery from a series of injuries—including an ACL tear—in a “mind-blowing” way, he said. After that he was cut off from receiving necessary updates on Leonard’s health, berated for taking a leave, and then fired, according to the complaint.
