Komatsu Pension Panel Beats Retiree Suit Over Boosted Benefits

Komatsu Mining Corp.‘s pension committee defeated a retiree’s lawsuit claiming he was wrongly denied more than $280,000 in benefits described in a “retirement kit” mailed at the end of his 45-year career, according to a Wisconsin federal court ruling.

Trevor Curtis’s lawsuit failed because he sought benefits that aren’t provided by the terms of his pension plan document, Judge Brett H. Ludwig of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin said Wednesday.
