A former Kirkland & Ellis LLP associate suing the multinational firm for sex and pay discrimination defeated its subpoenas seeking employment records from her prior stints at Paul Hastings LLP and Fish & Richardson PC.

Kirkland failed to show the information it sought is relevant to its ex-lawyer’s claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the Equal Pay Act, California job bias law, and state tort law, or to the firm’s defenses to those claims, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
