King & Spalding LLP Partner Randy Mastro on Tuesday implored the New York City Council to give him a chance to be the “best lawyer” they’ve ever worked with and confirm him to lead the city’s law department.
Mayor Eric Adams (D) at the end of July nominated Mastro to serve as the city’s corporation counsel, which oversees the city’s approximately 850 attorneys, despite him facing an uphill battle to earn a majority of the 51-member council’s support.
